Sam Aldham

Melbourne based circus artist Sam Aldham has been honing his skills in circus, acting and stunts since a young age. Originally interested in stunts and acting Sam found the flying trapeze in 2004 and was hooked immediately combining all the things he loved, performing, stunts and adrenalin. He toured the world as a Flying Trapeze artist before attending circus school to increase his repertoire. He then toured Australia and Internationally with Circus Oz, One Fell Swoop Circus, Dislocate and most recently The Little Red Trapeze Company. Specialising in Flying Trapeze, Corde Lisse and Acrobatics Sam is passionate about bringing the joy of Circus to his audiences and hopes to inspire, entertain, amaze and bring laughter.

Sharon Grunert

For the past 24 years Sharon has flown around and been thrown around in the circus, but her training began much earlier on her backyard trampoline and in gymnastics. She encourages students to work hard embracing drills and conditioning, but there should always be time to play, be creative and push yourself past your limits. Sharon has taught almost everywhere in Melbourne including Circus Oz, Kinder Circus, Westside Circus, Women’s Circus, Pow, Sprung Circus, Little Big Tops Circus and in many schools. Her specialities include partner and group acrobatics, tumbling, casting/cradle, double trapeze, and flying trapeze.

Shona Conacher

Shona grew up in Wollongong, NSW where she trained for nine years with Circus MonoxideYouth Circus. After beginning her professional career, she continued her training at the Beijing International Arts School in China. Shona performs hula hoops, skipping, group acrobatics and character work, and has crafted a unique and dynamic performance style once described as “having the subtlety and demure-ness of a freight train”.

Steve Richards

Steve Richards, affectionately known as Ric, assists as a trainer with the Spaghetti Circus performance troupe. He has been involved in gymnastics over the last 45 years as a competitor, coach and judge. Being a founding member of the “Flip Flops” tumbling and acrobatic troupe formed in the early 80’s, Ric became more involved in a variety of physical performance groups as a performer and / or technical advisor. Ric is a fully qualified PDHPE teacher and currently works part time in a small Steiner School near Byron Bay running camps and teaching circus skills to those that will listen.


Vincent van Berkel

Circus Trick Tease

Vincent is well known as an accomplished hand balancer and acrobat, and as one of Australia’s best on the teeterboard.
 With a strong background in competitive gymnastics, Vincent had a great base to build off when he made the leap into the circus world to fulfil his artistic and creative side in 2010. His circus career has seen him touring internationally as a member of ThisSideUp Acrobatics, performing in the show Controlled Falling Project, and extensively within Australia as a member of Circus Oz, Pants Down Circus, Pappillon and Casus.

Sarah McDougall

Dummies Corp

Sarah was a high level volleyball player before she found her love of circus. She trained at RUCCIS circus school and was then accepted into the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne. She specialised in single-point trapeze and hula hoops, and dabbled in Cloudswing even though she’s afraid of heights! She has a wide range of skills including group and partner acrobatics, solo and group skipping, clown and aerial chains.

Shaun Swadling

Shaun was able to make an instant impact after beginning to compete in the senior competition in 2010, finishing fifth on the Trampoline nationally, before a then-personal best 32nd in the 2011 World Championships. A member of the gold winning men’s team at the 2012 Pacific Rim Championships, and also took out the gold medal in the synchronised event with partner Blake Gaudry. In a very competitive family environment, Shaun trains with older brother Ty, in Newcastle under coach Brett Austine and won bronze in the Synchronised Trampoline competition at the 2014 FIG Minsk World Cup.  Shaun capped off a great 2014 by placing seventh in the world at the 2014 World Championships in Florida, USA, in the Men's Individual Trampoline Final. Along with brother Ty, Shaun also placed sixth in the Men's Synchronised Trampoline Final.

Sophie Seccomb

Sophie has loved free movement since she was born. Her slightly impetuous nature led her parents to enrol her in ballet lessons when she was two, and gymnastics a few years after that. While formal training gave her a foundation, she preferred handstands in trees and acrobatics on the roof.

Sophie discovered circus in a park at age 20. Immediately enthralled, circus exposed her to a world where gymnastics could be meshed with artistic expression without constraints. Outside of acrobatics Sophie may be found listening to Mazzy Star and eating croissants.

Stuart Christie

Stuart graduated from the National Institute of Circus Arts in 2004, and since then has performed professionally with companies such as Circus Oz, Kage Physical Theatre, Dislocate, Strut’n’Fret, and the Sydney Opera House. Alongside working as a professional performer, Stuart has also developed his teaching practice, working with a range of abilities from outreach to specialisation in aerials, particularly aerial rope.

After working with Circus Oz and Westside Circus, Stuart moved to Albury to teach aerial skills at the Flying Fruit Fly Circus. After a stint with Aerialize in the Blue Mountains, Stuart started his own classes under the name Bah-Hah, with students of all ages in skills ranging from acrobatics, balance, aerial and manipulation.

Tom Greder

Tom Greder is an itinerant artist focused on interactive contextual physical comedy. Born in Switzerland and raised in Australia, his style draws heavily on European street performing, circus and theatre traditions.

Trained as a circus artist and contemporary clown at The Circus Space and Ecole Philippe Gaulier, London, he has independently produced solo circus, theatre, cabaret and street theatre performances as well as collaborated with national and international circus, theatre, dance and film companies.

SHANI Stephens

Gravity & Other Myths (GOM)

Shani grew up in a little country town with two big brothers that rustled her around. After years of flipping off fences and leaving dirty sock marks on the walls, she quickly realised that she was happiest when upside down. Shani spent several years competing in Gymnastics and attending Youth Circus classes before venturing to The Flying Fruit Fly Circus to take her training to a National level.
After Graduating in 2017, Shani toured with Circus Oz before joining Gravity & Other Myths.

Shep Huntly

A producer, programmer and performer with twenty-five years’ experience. He has worked in venues, festivals events and TV in 28 countries around the world, four separate seasons in the Sydney Opera House and an invitation to perform at the National Theatre in London are noteworthy highlights. Shep has been talking on stage for more than half his life. He has an instant rapport with his audience, charming and charismatic. All of these traits combine to make him one of the best MC’s in the country.

Spenser Inwood

Spenser has been teaching for over 15 years across a number of different disciplines since starting her circus learning at the Flying Fruit Fly Circus. Spenser has had great opportunities to work in all kinds of teaching situations: Indigenous communities in WA, NT and QLD and outreach work with refugees and community circus groups like the Women’s Circus in Melbourne. In recent years Spenser has taught at the WA Circus Festival, APAC, Circus Oz and private workshops, specializing in Basing Tips and Tricks for Smaller Bases, and including Small Rig Flying Trapeze, Acrobalance, Hand to Hand and Chinese pole.

Sue Broadway

Sue Broadway is a director, choreographer and creative producer of circus and physical theatre, with extensive experience in large-scale and site-specific events. She also performs as a clown, compere and eccentric juggler. Her freelance work as a director has included the Sydney Olympics Ceremonies (Circus and Special Skills), The Moomba Parade, The Moon Lantern Festival, Shanghai Expo 2012 (Aerial Choreographer, Australian Pavilion), the London Olympics Torch relay and the Exhibition Road Show for the London Olympics Cultural Festival.  She is a former  Artistic Director of Circus Oz, Strange Fruit, Westside Circus and Ra-Ra Zoo and a current submerging artist.

Tahmour Bloomfield

Tahmour added Pilates to her skill set over five years ago. She specialises in fascia focused exercises that build resilience, elasticity and strength to support the various movements we ask our bodies to do. Her circus background includes over two decades of teaching social circus and performing ground-based acts. Come to her classes for strength to your length, specific long muscle activation, deep strength, and focused movements that will help with your circus arts.

Tomas Correia

Statera Circus

Born the ‘flying zucchini’, the oddball Tomas Corria spent over a decade training circus at Spaghetti Circus, Circa Zoo and NICA. He strives to be multi-skilled in various disciplines and is particularly fascinated about pushing the creative, and wacky boundaries of all the physical aspects in circus, and how it can be combined with other art forms such as dance, music and other visual arts.
