If you like a quirky slant on the traditional, then come rock out on this further extension of the aerial hoop! With both solo trick and duo skills, this workshop will provide an introduction to a prop mastered in the northern hemisphere and brought to Northern NSW. We will explore the dynamics and speed as a solo prop as well as the graceful balancing act that having two performers add. The tippy lyra behaves as a horizontal, vertical and moving hoop all at once.
This class is suitable for those who have got the basic fundamentals of trapeze or lyra. An intermediate level is preferable.
You must be able to:
– hold your own weight
– to get up to sitting,
– hang by your knees,
– to invert successfully
– to complete a simple sequence of tricks (to show your stamina!)
and to be keen as toast!
