Elsie and the Bird

Elsie travels alone. People come and go, but in the end it’s always just back to her. Until she buys a bird and nothing is the same. Take a trip with Elsie through a luminous place, on the edge of sleep and sanity, where the ceiling disappears, and a fellow traveller can rest.

Vestri Mendum is an consummate aerialist recently having performed at Vivid and in the Wollongong Spiegeltent, coming together with Alicia Battestini who was artistic director of Circus Monoxide from 2004-2009 and oversaw the transition of the company with Hall Murray from an outdoor touring show to a big top touring show. She has performed with Legs on the Wall and Merrigong Theatre Company. These two circus generations have come together to create an exploration into character and mental health while combining clown and aerial work.
